Mark Coopersmith: Educator, Entrepreneur, Fortune 500 Executive, and Author
Mark Coopersmith is a Senior Fellow and Faculty Member at UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business, where he teaches innovation, entrepreneurship, and leadership to current and future global leaders.
He has a proven track record of building and managing global businesses for industry giants like Sony and Newell Rubbermaid. A seasoned entrepreneur, he launched successful Silicon Valley startups, including the e-commerce venture WebOrder (now a part of Google). Furthermore, he has mentored numerous startup teams in launching high-growth ventures across diverse sectors, including web services, consumer electronics, medical devices, Cleantech, fashion, and Fintech.
As a respected commentator, his insights are frequently featured in major media outlets such as The Economist, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, Financial Times, Fast Company, NPR, and The Huffington Post.
He delivers strategic management insights and knowledge to executives at top-tier organizations, including Google, IDEO, Salesforce, Oracle, Wells Fargo, Daimler Benz, Samsung, and Genentech.
Mark is also a Founding Faculty Member-in-Residence at the NASDAQ Entrepreneurial Center. He is the co-author (with John Danner) of the book The Other "F" Word: How Smart Leaders, Teams, and Entrepreneurs Put Failure to Work, which provides a framework for leveraging failure to drive innovation and growth.
He holds both a Bachelor’s degree and an MBA from UC Berkeley.
