Henry Chung (Chung Hoe-hoon) is the CEO of KAIST Venture Investment and formerly served as the Managing Director of Draper Athena Fund. He is a seasoned venture capitalist dedicated to building global expertise and seeking transformative investment opportunities for startups.

 

A graduate of Seoul National University with a Master’s degree in Business Administration, he founded eCommunity. As CEO, he served as a consultant helping startups in various business aspects, including strategic planning, market development, technology positioning, and fundraising. Prior to joining eCommunity, he was a Director at Arthur D. Little, a global management consulting firm. As a member of the TIME (Telecommunications, Information, Media, and Electronics) practice, he supported the development of numerous client strategies within the ICT industry.

 

In 2000, he co-founded KOVA (Korea Venture Business Association), which focuses on incubating venture companies in Korea. He also serves as an advisor to the Green Technology Center Korea, established by the Korean government, and the Tech-Humanities Atelier. Currently, Henry is a venture capitalist and co-chairman of the Venture Leaders Club. He lectures on high-tech management to entrepreneurs and universities and is one of the main investors in the reality TV series Startup Bigbang.
