Yukiko Fukagawa: One of Japan’s Economic Gurus

 

Professor Yukiko Fukagawa is a prominent pro-Korean economist serving in the Faculty of Political Science and Economics at Waseda University. Having studied the Korean economy in depth for over 30 years, she is considered one of Japan’s leading authorities on the economies of Korea and East Asia.

 

Recognized as one of Japan’s economic gurus, Professor Fukagawa has analyzed economic issues from a global perspective, backed by her international education and a solid academic foundation.

 

She built her academic expertise by earning a Master’s degree in International Economics from Yale University and a Ph.D. from Waseda University. Since then, as a professor at Waseda University, she has continued to produce research and policy recommendations regarding various international economic issues and Korea-Japan economic cooperation.


Her major publications include The Korean Economy as an Advanced Country and International Comparison of Policy Crises, through which she has provided profound insights into Korea’s economic development processes and policy experiences.
