Katsuhiro Nishinari: The World’s Foremost Authority on Jamology and Waste Elimination

 

Professor Katsuhiro Nishinari completed his Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering at the University of Tokyo Graduate School. He later conducted research in theoretical physics as a visiting professor at the Institute for Theoretical Physics, University of Cologne, Germany. After serving as an Associate Professor and Professor of Aerospace Engineering at the University of Tokyo, he is currently a professor at the Research Center for Advanced Science and Technology (RCAST) at the University of Tokyo. His primary research fields are mathematical physics and Jamology (the study of congestion), and he is recognized as the world's leading authority in the areas of Jamology and waste elimination.


His major publications include Jamology, The Science of Waste Elimination, What is at the Head of a Traffic Jam?, Resolving Work Stagnation, and Strengthening Your Thought Stamina (2011).
