Non-fiction Author and FKI (Federation of Korean Industries) Professor

 

Hong, Hasang is a non-fiction author and a professor at the FKI. Since graduating from the Department of Creative Writing at Chung-Ang University, he has dedicated over 30 years to writing non-fiction. He spent nearly three decades traveling across Japan to conduct research for books such as The Merchants of Osaka, The Japanese Way of Business, and Credit: The Merchants of Ginza.

 

He has authored numerous bestsellers focusing on business leaders from Korea, China, and Japan, including Lee Kun-hee, Lee Byung-chul’s Management Classics, Think and Act Like Chung Ju-yung, Charisma vs. Charisma: Lee Byung-chul vs. Chung Ju-yung, 10 CEOs Who Move China, and Li Ka-shing: The God of Commerce.

 

Many of his major works have been translated and published in Japan, China, Taiwan, Thailand, and Russia. Recently, he has expanded his global perspective with the publication of The Spirit of European Luxury Enterprises. He lectured on the "Biographies of Merchants" for six years at Samsung Economic Research Institute's SERI CEO. He has received several awards, including the Japan-Korea Cultural Exchange Award (Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan) and the Baeksang Publishing Culture Award.
