The Motorcycle-Riding Chinese Cuisine Expert, Professor Shin Kye-sook
Professor Shin Kye-sook is a culinary researcher and a professor at Baewha Women's University, where she teaches Chinese cuisine and food culture in the Department of Culinary Arts (Traditional Culinary Arts).
After majoring in Chinese Language and Literature at Dankook University, Professor Shin established her academic foundation in the field of culinary arts and food culture by obtaining both her Master’s and Ph.D. degrees in Food and Nutrition from Ewha Women's University.
As an expert in Chinese cuisine with eight years of experience as a professional chef, she provides education that combines practical skills with theory, systematically passing down the traditions and techniques of Chinese food to her students.
In addition, she has played a significant role in promoting the richness and joy of Korean and Chinese food cultures to the public through television programs such as EBS Shin Kye-sook’s Matercycle Diary. She is widely loved for her characteristically cheerful and friendly communication style.
A recipient of the Minister of Education Award, she is highly regarded as a professor who expands the reach of food culture by integrating culinary research, education, and media activities.
