Kwon Nam-hoon, the control tower for establishing policies in the Korean industry and trade sector
Kwon Nam-hoon, the 23rd president of the Korea Institute for Industrial Economics & Trade (KIET), was born in 1969, graduated from Seoul National University with a master's and doctorate degrees in economics from Stanford University in the United States.
He served as a researcher at the Institute for Information and Communication Policy and a professor of economics at Konkuk University, as well as the president of the Institute for Economic and Social Affairs and the president of the Korean Industrial Organization Association.
Korea Institute for Industrial Economics & Trade (KIET) is a government-funded research institute under the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, and conducts research and analysis for policy-making in the industrial and trade sectors. He took office in September 2024, contributing to policy decisions by predicting mid- to long-term industrial changes and discovering new growth engines.
