Zahid Hussain: Self-Made Entrepreneur & Cultural Liaison

Zahid Hussain arrived in South Korea in 2008 as a recipient of the Global Korea Scholarship (GKS), a prestigious program sponsored by the Korean government. Since then, he has built an impressive and diverse career spanning multiple industries. After mastering the Korean language and earning both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees, he spent five years as a specialist in the renewable energy sector while simultaneously establishing himself as a prominent figure in the Korean entertainment industry.

Zahid first gained national recognition in 2015 on the popular variety show Non-Summit (Abnormal Summit). Since then, he has served as a key cultural diplomat, introducing Pakistan and Islamic culture to the Korean public. He is a sought-after speaker for the Ministry of Justice, Korea Tourism Organization (KTO), various municipal governments, and leading universities. His lectures cover a wide range of compelling topics, including Halal culture, global citizenship, intercultural communication, and South Korea’s globalization.

Drawing on his professional background in renewable energy, Zahid is deeply committed to addressing the climate crisis, climate justice, and environmental change. He is equally passionate about social impact and philanthropy, actively participating in various initiatives to help those in need.

His extensive public service roles include serving as an Honorary Ambassador for the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics, the Korea Tourism Organization, and the Seoul Immigration Office under the Ministry of Justice. Currently, he contributes his expertise as a Mentor for the Ministry of Justice’s Social Integration Program, a member of the GKS Committee under the Ministry of Education, and a member of the Seoul Metropolitan Government’s Tourism Market Diversification Committee.
