Nam Jae-jak: Expert in Climate Change & Agricultural Environment

Nam Jae-jak is an agricultural scientist and the Director of the Korea Precision Agriculture Institute. He actively serves as an expert advisor for various government bodies, including the Presidential Commission on Agriculture, Fisheries and Rural Policy's Carbon Neutrality Committee and the Agricultural, Food, and Rural Science and Technology Committee. His distinguished career includes serving as a researcher at the Rural Development Administration (RDA) and as the Director of Planning and Coordination at the Korea Agriculture Technology Promotion Agency (KOAT).

As an agricultural ODA (Official Development Assistance) expert for KOICA, Dr. Nam has planned rural development projects aimed at enhancing food security and addressing climate change in developing countries. His international expertise is further demonstrated by his participation in the IPCC 4th Assessment Report approval meeting and the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) sessions as a member of the South Korean government delegation.

Dr. Nam possesses extensive practical experience in climate change mitigation, having participated in numerous carbon emission certification audits for corporations. As an expert in the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) within the agricultural sector, he has contributed to the establishment of climate change response projects in South Korea through his advisory roles and lectures.

Dedicated to ensuring that issues such as food crises, agricultural instability, and food sovereignty are addressed as sustainable strategic priorities rather than "volatile, short-term issues," he collaborates with fellow experts to conduct research on improving South Korea's food self-sufficiency rate.
